Why LinkedIn has no download button
LinkedIn has no download button. The video plays in the feed, and that is the end of the offer. Even for a video you posted yourself, there is no way to get the file back out once your original is gone.
That is the whole reason this exists. Paste the post link and you get the MP4, at the highest quality LinkedIn stored.
How to copy a LinkedIn post link
On desktop, click the three dots at the top right of the post and choose "Copy link to post". On mobile, tap the same three dots and use "Copy link". Either gives you a URL that looks like this:
https://www.linkedin.com/posts/some-name_some-slug-activity-7123456789012345678-abcd
A link copied from the address bar works too, as long as the post is public.
Which LinkedIn videos can be downloaded
Public posts work. Private posts, posts limited to connections, and anything that asks you to log in before you can watch it will not work, because the tool sees exactly what a logged-out visitor sees.
Can you reuse someone else's video?
For the other media on a post, there is the image downloader and the carousel downloader.
Downloading a video does not give you the right to republish it. Your own content is yours to reuse anywhere. Someone else's is not, so ask first if you plan to post it somewhere.
